Second half of the 17th century, France. Two Louis XIV period embroidered chair covers. Wool tapestries with a millefleurs and fleurons design on a brown background, and one with a large medallion of a shepherdess with wolves under a tree. Note the small losses and slight discoloration on the second cover. The set is sufficiently stable and durable for use in historical decoration or as cushions. Good overall condition. Dimensions: Approximately 70 cm x 70 cm each, with 50 cm x 44 cm usable space at the inner corners.
