Pair Of Venetian Wall Sconces With Murano Glass Mirrors – Italy, Circa 1930

Very beautiful pair of Venetian wall lights, with mirrors from Murano (Venice) circa 1930.
Each wall light has a scrolled mirror structure, richly decorated with elements typical of the high glassmaking tradition of Murano: The Central Mirrors: Display a fine handcrafted wheel engraving representing Venetian characters in period costumes.

One of the sconces features an elegant lady in a basket dress and the other a matching gentleman.
The scene is framed by a delicate engraved foliage garland.The Framing: The border of the mirror is enhanced with twists of glass and topped with elegant flowers and rosettes in molded glass applied by hand.

The Lighting: Each piece has an arm of light in gold-plated metal with leaf, simulating vibrant foliage ending in a bobèche in the shape of a floral corolla to hold a candle. The wall lights are electrified.
