Charles Bertrand d’Entraygues was born in Brive in 1850. He trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse before joining Isidore Pils’s studio at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Beginning in 1876, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he regularly presented his works until 1906. Settling in Écouen, within the famous artists’ colony, he specialized in genre scenes, appreciated for their spontaneity, keen observation, and narrative quality. He received an honorable mention at the 1899 Salon and became a member of the Société des Artistes Français in 1904.
