Reliquary Capsule (theca) Of Saint Anthony Of Padua With Authentic, Rome, 1884
Oval reliquary capsule (Theca) in silver-plated copper, approx. 5 × 3 cm, containing a relic of St. Anthony of Padua ("Ex area sepul. S. Antonii Patau."), presented under glass. The relic is set in a textile mount with a decorative gilded border. The reverse retains its original ecclesiastical seal with its closing ties.
Accompanied by its original authentic ecclesiastical seal in Latin, issued in Rome in 1884 under the authority of Cardinal-Vicar Costantino Patrizi Naro. Document with printed coat of arms, handwritten inscriptions, signatures and embossed seal.
Saint Anthony of Padua (1195-1231) is one of the most venerated saints of the Franciscan order. His cult spread far beyond Italy, and still occupied an important place in private and religious devotion in the 19th century.
