ENSEMBLE OF A CAPTAIN OF THE 65th ARTILLERY REGIMENT, Third Republic. 30058
Large-cut, long-skirted tunic in fine combed cloth known as light blue gabardine cloth, fastened straight with nine large gilt brass buttons stamped with the weapon's symbols, two crossed barrels surmounted by a flaming grenade.
Right collar, 57 mm high, in ground cloth, collar tabs cut in braces in fine scarlet cloth, cut in braces in their front part, number embroidered in gold cannetille and double dark blue soutaches. Two iron clasps at the foot of the collar. Hip pockets with straight flaps, epaulet expectations and rank braids in gilded ribbed lines.
Lining in light blue Chinese satin.
Belt, saber holster, shoulder strap in fawn leather, brass buckle.
Ordinary revolver holster, model 1876/1909.
In thick fawn leather, shaped like a small triangular cast iron with a bulging face, and stamped lid. Under the lid, a sewn-in pocket on the outside of the scabbard holds three packs of cartridges. An internal wedge holds the gun in the holster. Rectangular brass sling rings. Receipt and maker's stamps, dated 1937.

The 65th Artillery Regiment is an artillery unit of the French Army which during the First World War was an anti-aircraft defense (AAD) artillery regiment. Disbanded in 1919, it was recreated in 1929 as an African artillery regiment.
