ENGINEER OFFICER'S SHAKO, Model 1837, July Monarchy. 34409
Cardboard shell covered with black taupe velvet, trimmed at the top with gold braid (27 mm wide) and at the bottom with velvet piping (30 mm wide), cylinder height 210 mm. Tricolor metal cockade. Gilded brass chin straps, consisting of a round rosette stamped with a pomegranate (diameter 40 mm), and a leather chin strap lined with velvet and covered by a gilded brass plate embossed with a block featuring a descending sequence of 12 double scalloped scales (length 180 mm), ending in a missing black patent leather strap.
Front plate made of gilded brass, embossed in relief with a breastplate and a helmet, all set atop a flaming bomb with a crossed axe and sword, along with an oak and laurel branch. Height of the plate: 12.5 mm, width: 13 mm.
Double tassel made of scarlet wool, height 130 mm.
Inner cap made of black waxed leather cut into 8 wolf teeth.
