OTTOMAN EMPIRE NAVAL OFFICER'S SABRE, Second half of the 19th century. 32665 Gilt bronze hilt. Three-branch guard forming an openwork shell with a cabled anchor framed by foliage. Long-tailed pommel decorated with palmettes. Bone grip with brass wire inlay. Ferrule decorated with foliage. Very slightly curved blade with fullers, 77 cm long, acid-etched on each side with a vegetal design, signed at the ricasso "J. NIKITITS ERBEN" on one side, and on the other side an oval with "FH HÖRSTER A SOLINGEN". Wooden scabbard covered in black varnished leather with three large brass mounts decorated with flowers and geometric designs, Orientalist style. Chape with stud and suspension ring, further decorated with an applied cabled anchor; At the rear of the chape, a suspension ring for belt attachment. Central fitting with a stud and belt loop.
