PAIR OF OFFICER'S PISTOLS SIGNED LAROCHE À PARIS, Former Monarchy. 30098 Round barrels with side panels near the thunderbolt then entirely round, slightly blundered at the muzzle. They are engraved and gilded with a trophy of arms, the signature "Laroche / A Paris" and fleur-de-lis ribbons, all on a blued background. Barrel length 19.6 cm, with the breech tang 24.5 cm. Locks signed "La Roche Paris". Walnut mounts carved with corollas of foliage. Swan-neck hammers. Round bassinets. All hallmarked silver fittings decorated in relief with military trophies, foliage and flowers. Long-eared pommels. Caps representing a Turkish warrior. Whalebone ramrods with polished iron tips. Total length of each pistol 33.5 cm. France. Former Monarchy. Very good condition, gilding of the barrels erased in places; on one of the pistols: two trigger guard screws changed previously and a joint on one side along the barrel 6.5 cm x 8 mm wide. NOTE: LAROCHE IN PARIS Jean (son) is an arquebusier who first worked with his father before succeeding him at the Galeries du Louvre.
