An English flintlock pocket pistol, circa 1790-1810, marked Farmer - London, barrel engraved with scrolls and foliage, three British proof marks (P, V, G under a crown). The stock is made of reddish-brown wood inlaid with silver stringing, the pommel adorned with a finely chased bronze lion's head. Length 16 cm. The trigger is missing. There is a small chip on the stock near the metal fitting. Judging by the quality of the ornamentation, this weapon was certainly intended for a person of high rank.
