Beautiful and authentic Baroque still life, oil on canvasmounted on its original stretcher.
On a two-tiered stone entablature, the painter hasan opulent composition of heavy bunches of white and red grapesand red grapes, golden peaches, cherries, figs and plums, enlivened by the presencethe presence of a pink-and-green-feathered macaw parrot perched on the left,turning its gaze towards the fruit. In the background, a bowl of dark fruitfruit on a raised rim completes the scene.
The dark background,characteristic of the late Baroque, magnifies the luminosity of the fruitby contrast.The composition, chromatic treatment and workmanshipevoke the Italian (Roman or Neapolitan) schools of the second halfthe second half of the 17th century, in the tradition of the great naturalists of the genre (circleof Ruoppolo, Castelli dit Spadino, or the school of Meiffren Conte).
Good overall condition.
Some minor damage to the cornersdue to the old frame.
No visible restoration. Antique framewithout frame.
