Full details (click HERE)
The painting depicts a stunning floral still life, in which numerous colorful buds are arranged in a large vase placed on a shelf: bellflowers, tulips, hyacinths, anemones, and other varieties make up the bouquet, skillfully arranged against a dark background to highlight the supple forms of the stems and leaves and, above all, the vivid and dazzling colors of the petals.
The work showcases the skill of a talented, rising painter trained in the prestigious 17th-century Flemish tradition, although at the same time, in the bold execution and sensitivity to light, a typically Mediterranean verve, evident in the soft and balanced harmony of the vivid colors of the buds.
The artist, in fact, displays all his Baroque exuberance and Nordic talent for the precise depiction of various floral varieties, though influenced by Roman still life painting of the late 17th century.
Nor should we forget the exceptional painterly tradition of the Brueghel family dynasty, which our artist expresses with absolute mastery and modernity, particularly through his innovative approach to composition and lighting, which brilliantly outlines the forms and enhances the hues.
