The shaft, with vegetal scrolling, is prolonged by an upper frame adorned with a laurel wreath.

This work is signed François Rambeaud French sculptor (1852-1893), trained at the Grenoble School of Fine Arts and then in Paris in François Jouffroy's workshop.
He exhibited regularly at the Salons from 1878 onwards and won several honorable mentions in the 1880s, as well as a third-class medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889.
This lamp base was made by the Susse Frères foundry in Paris, an important company founded in the 18th century and renowned for the quality of its art bronzes and the distribution of works by famous sculptors.
