Pair Of Openwork Bronze Lamps - 19th Century - Base Height: 40 Cm
A pair of 19th-century polished bronze lamps from the Napoleon III period.
The lamp bases are baluster-shaped, featuring extensive openwork decoration of scrolls, volutes, foliage, and ornamental motifs.
The lamp bodies are adorned with medallions and decorations arranged symmetrically.
On the sides, lion heads in relief hold movable rings.
The lower section, accented with a gadrooned decoration, rests on a molded circular base.
A row of copper beads provides a subtle contrast in material and color to the bronze.
The pair is of high-quality craftsmanship, with impressive height and substantial bronze weight, each base weighing 4.8 kg.
These lamp bases were originally used for kerosene lamps with glass reservoirs.
They were refurbished and polished by a specialized workshop and then converted for electric use in accordance with current standards.
