Beautiful terrestrial globe published in Berlin in 1881 by D.Reimer, entitled C. Adami's Erdglobus, revised and drawn by Heinrich Kiepert (1818-1899), famous German geographer and cartographer. Engraving by J.Sulzer, printed by L.Kraatz. This globe in German language, presents a particularly interesting period cartography: Germany indicated under Deutschland Italy under Italian South Africa still called Capland and Kafern (region of the Cafres) Australia divided into historical colonies: Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, West Australia, Alexandra Land... The Hawaiian Islands still appear under their old name Representation of ocean currents and steam maritime routes. The decorated cast iron base, in neoclassical style, supports a brass frame. The sphere is in very very good condition with its original patina giving it the charm of an old and decorative scientific object.
