Bronze And Brass Kerosene Lamp - Matador Burner - Late 19th Century

A late 19th-century kerosene lamp, consisting of an ornate bronze base and a brass reservoir.
The polished brass spherical reservoir is supported by three bronze uprights decorated with foliage motifs.
The upper portions of these uprights are adorned with mascarons depicting faun heads with curled horns. The bronze legs, also embossed with plant motifs, end in stylized feet and rest on a tripod base with small circular glides.
The reservoir is encircled by a decorative frieze and topped by its burner, marked “Matador 15,” accompanied by its “half-crystal” glass chimney featuring a windmill motif. The letters M and R of an erased word (certainly “Matador”) are visible.

The lamp is in very good condition; please note some small visible black spots on the legs and the fact that you must replace the wick—which has become too stiff—before using it as a light source.
