The rounded body rises toward a tapered, slightly flared neck.
The polychrome flamed glaze features shades of wine-red, purple, green, and blue, with numerous glaze run effects scattered across the entire surface.
The neck is also glazed on the inside in shades of green and darker blue.
On the base, the signature “Dalpayrat” is accompanied by an incised number.
Adrien Dalpayrat ranks among the leading French ceramicists of the Art Nouveau period.
Based in Bourg-la-Reine starting in 1889, he created high-fire stoneware pieces that are particularly recognizable for their textural effects and complex colorations.
