Reliquary in paperolles with radiant decoration, 18th century
Reliquary in circular form under glass, featuring remarkable paperolles work in gilded metal wire, embellished with finely executed floral and plant motifs.
The composition is organized in a radiating pattern around a central cavity adorned with a painted medallion and containing a relic protected under glass.
Description
The set contains 11 relics arranged in a crown, identified by handwritten bands.
Among those legible, we note in particular a relic of Saint Generosa as well as a probable relic of Saint Lucia (S. Lucia) and Saint Innocenty . Other inscriptions, partially erased or difficult to decipher, mention various martyred saints and figures of Christian devotion.
Convent work of great finesse, characteristic of productions from the second half of the 18th century.
Beautiful ornamental richness and balanced composition.

Condition
Good overall condition, with wear and slight alterations in keeping with age, particularly to labels and textile elements.
