Elegant traditional Moroccan dagger (koummya), richly decorated with silver and niello inlays.
The curved steel blade, with a thick spine and a median ridge, fits into a finely chiseled silver scabbard, decorated with floral and geometric motifs in relief.
Description
The guard and handle feature particularly careful goldsmith work, enhanced with three square cabochons in set red glass, giving the whole a noble and ceremonial appearance. The patinated brass suspension rings allow it to be worn on the belt, in accordance with Maghrebi tradition.
Chiseled silver, niello, brass and steel.
