The delicately rendered figure shows a child in a tender pose, her finger to her mouth, seated on a richly decorated book. The book is adorned with a heart-shaped clasp. The modeling of the face, the gentleness of the expression, and the attention to detail attest to the quality of production of the Müller factory, renowned for its craftsmanship in Thuringia at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. Marked in blue under the base and mold number 6227 engraved in relief. Period: circa 1890-1920. A delicate and charming piece, representative of quality German production around 1900.
