Müller, Fanfare Of Four Putti Musicians In Porcelain Biscuit
Müller, Set of four putti musicians in bisque porcelain – É. & A. Müller, circa 1900
Charming set of four putti musicians in bisque porcelain – É. & A. Müller Manufactory, Thuringia, circa 1900
A delightful set of four putti musicians in white bisque porcelain, produced by the É. & A. Müller factory in Schwarza-Saalbahn (Thuringia) circa 1900.
This charming brass band features four young musicians, each playing a different instrument:
- the hunting horn,
- the pipe,
- the drum and cymbals,
- the trombone.
The figures’ natural movement, their lively expressions, and the delicate modeling of their faces attest to the high quality of sculpture from this renowned German manufacturer. The instruments, the drapery, and the rocky bases are executed with great finesse.
The underside bears the manufacturer’s blue stamp as well as the model number 1960, guaranteeing the authenticity of this piece.
Founded in Thuringia, the É. & A. Müller manufactory distinguished itself in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by producing bisque porcelain of remarkable quality, which is highly sought after by collectors today.
Displayed as a set, this small marching band exudes all the charm of Belle Époque children’s scenes and constitutes a decorative ensemble that is as elegant as it is rare to find complete.
