Ignacio Gallo (1887-1956) – "Ecstasy" – Female Nude – Art Deco Terracotta, Circa 1930. Ignacio Gallo – Art Deco Sculpture "Ecstasy" – Female Nude in Terracotta. Ignacio Gallo (1887-1956) "Ecstasy" – Female Nude – Terracotta – Art Deco, 1920s-1930s. An elegant terracotta sculpture of a female nude entitled "Ecstasy," by the Spanish sculptor Ignacio Gallo, created in the Art Deco style of the 1920s-1930s. The female figure, rendered with sensuality and elegance, is characterized by its supple and harmonious modeling. The expressive pose and stylization of the body perfectly reflect the aesthetics of Art Deco, where the purity of lines and the pursuit of balance lend the composition a great modernity. Born in Valladolid in 1887, Ignacio Gallo trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. He distinguished himself early on in the field of sculpture, receiving several awards during his studies. In 1912, he made his debut at the Paris Salon with a work entitled Apostle. His work reflects the decorative aesthetic of the interwar period and primarily depicts female nudes, dancers, and mythological figures. This sculpture exemplifies the artist's elegant and decorative output in the first half of the 20th century. Signature: I.
