Stoneware Pitcher From The Rhine Valley – Frechen Workshops – 17th Century

Stoneware Pitcher from the Rhine Valley – Frechen Workshops – 17th Century.

This charming salt-glazed stoneware pitcher, attributed to the Frechen workshops, is emblematic of 17th-century German production from the Rhine Valley.
This model features an elegant baluster shape, with a rounded body and a narrow neck, adorned with a functional spout. The surface boasts a beautiful salt glaze in brown hues, speckled and subtly tiger-striped, typical of these early productions. The decoration consists of series of horizontal striations, visible on the base and the neck, adding rhythm and character to the piece.

Height: 22 cm.

The condition is remarkable considering the age of the piece. Note: a few minor chips and a crack at the base, which do not affect the stability or the overall appearance of the object. A fine example of 17th-century Rhenish ceramics, both decorative and representative of historical craftsmanship.

Price excludes shipping.

Police Register Ref: A012.
