charming patinated bronze dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, depicting Love sharpening or repairing his bow. Love, Eros, or Cupid appears here as a winged figure, a putto, or an angel kneeling and busy repairing his bow.
The technique is very interesting, and the lost-wax casting allowed the sculptor to accentuate a personal approach, thus sketching the features and forms of his Love while working in the spirit of the sketches of famous sculptors.
This gives this bronze a very strong presence and personality.
A difficult-to-read inscription is engraved on the base: "Ardentes Amore Agitas Rote Ormentes" (Burning Love, Agitas, Rote Ornaments).
