Medallion – Jesus Christ, Art Nouveau, New York, 1907.
A circular medallion in relief, made of bronze, depicting the profile of Jesus Christ with a beard and long, wavy hair. The medallion is mounted on a contoured wooden panel (mahogany). Carved into the upper part of the wooden panel is the Chi-Rho symbol (XP)—an early Christian monogram for Christ. On the reverse are metal hooks for hanging it on the wall, as well as an old label from the French company GARDE-MEUBLE J. & E. PEROL, with an address in Paris (10, rue Nicolas-Chuquet, Paris XVII / MALESHERBES).
