Vase With Lid, Signed, Kutani, Japan, Meiji Era (1868-1912).
Japanese porcelain vase with lid. Decorated with a hand-painted design. On one side, it depicts a samurai and his companion under a large pine tree, by the water, with a volcanic mountain (Fuji?) visible in the background. The rest of the vase's decoration is filled with a representation of birds surrounded by lush vegetation and a dragon with Mount Fuji.
Kutani, Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912). Signed on the underside: "Dai Nippon Kutani Tsukuru" and on the inside of the lid.
Height 47 cm, width 26 cm.
