18th Century Ewer. Decorated With Mandarins. Qianlong Period (1736-1795).
I am offering for sale this superb 18th-century Chinese ewer in the so-called "Hanap helmet" shape. Made of polychrome enameled porcelain with decorations known as "mandarin palette" motifs, the decorations are subtle and very fine, typical of the period, depicting bucolic scenes with smiling men, women, and children enjoying life. There is one hairline crack and some minor firing spots. Ideal for lovers of 18th-century porcelain and fine porcelain.
