Long Tent Strapping Strip. Shahsaven. Persian. Circa 1880. 1100 X 30 Cm
A rare and precious object in its entirety: an 11-meter-long strip that was once used to reinforce the tent canvas of nomadic populations. Origin: Shahsaven / Persia. The object is in impeccable condition along its entire length. There is no alteration to the exclusively plant-based dyes in magnificent shades of indigo blue, red ochre, and pale green. The fine, tight weave provided robustness for its intended use. A highly decorative object, suitable for a cornice, for example, or any other hanging display. Fragments of varying sizes are more common. The significance of this piece lies in its completeness and perfect condition. It is a museum piece, a true collector's item. Circa 1880. Dimensions: 1100 x 30 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
