19th Century Wedgwood Double-sided Tie Pin In Gold And Silver In A Domed Case
The obverse of this tie pin features an oval medallion with an antique-style design of an ephebe leaning against a column on a pink background, within a radiating frame of pointed white petals on a traditional Wedgwood blue ground. The oval frame is made of textured silver, engraved with gold details and set with four faceted ruby-red crystals. The reverse also features a Wedgwood design in pink, blue, and white, depicting a winged Cupid carving wood at the foot of a tree. It comes in its original case by Charles Parnacott, jeweler and silversmith to the Queen, 28 New Bond Street. The domed wooden case is covered in burgundy leather with gold piping and lined with blue satin and velvet. It is in excellent condition. The silver is unmarked and has been tested with a touchstone. The pin is steel.
