Tortoiseshell Snuffbox With Guilloche Pattern And Yellow Composition, Early 19th Century
Unusual decorative treatment of the tortoiseshell on this snuffbox. It is rectangular in shape with cut sides in finely guilloché tortoiseshell with vermiculated decoration in reserve on a yellow background on all its faces. The hinged silver lid centered with a six-pointed star motif.
Note: The insertion of the hinge in the lid has been repaired. A tiny insect nibble on the edge of the bottom.
Opens and closes perfectly.
