"Gold Snuffbox By Master Goldsmith Louis Tronquoy, Restoration"
Rectangular gold box with rounded corners, hinged lid decorated with scrolls on an matte background. The lid is decorated with a central oval medallion framed by a guilloché pattern of parallel striations. The medallion presents a composition of hair. A fine frieze of interlacing and stylized fruits frames this composition. The base repeats the decoration of parallel striations and floral frieze. This snuffbox is characteristic of the so-called sentimental objects of the early 19th century. Work from the early 19th century, Restoration.
