Antique French Art Deco Silver Powder Compact, Signed Yaf

Here is a magnificent Art Deco powder compact. Both sides are inlaid with black, and one of them bears the "YAF" logo. A black clasp is located on the side.

The interior includes two lockable powder compartments and a space for an oblong powder sponge. As you can see in the photos, the sponge is currently missing.

The entire compact is made of silver, and the interior is even gold-plated. It bears various silver hallmarks: The two lids on the left are hallmarked with a lozenge, the maker's mark. On the right, the sponge holder bears hallmarks: a lozenge, a boar's head, and the number 244. The compact itself is hallmarked with a boar's head in the center and a lozenge and the number 244 on the rim.

Thanks to the presence of all the hallmarks inside, the exterior of the powder compact retains a remarkable elegance.
