"Powder Box , Solid Silver, Enamel And Vermeil, France, 1920-1940, Vanity Case "
Extremely rare powder box in solid enameled silver and vermeil dating from the Art Deco period. It is in perfect condition, no dents, scratches or chips. The silversmith shares his sense of humor in the design which is enameled on the lid. We see a large black cat adorned with a huge red ribbon who is probably not so wisely looking at the goldfish swimming in the large bowl in front of him. We are a few moments before the drama ..... Inside are two hallmarks, a diamond-shaped one for the master silversmith and a 'crab' as a guarantee for the solid silver.
