Clock Vase Crystal Charles X Period 1830
Very rare Charles X period vase clock, circa 1830. Perfectly authentic
and entirely original, without any modifications, and also retaining
its original pendulum. The vase is made of a single piece of crystal,
richly cut throughout with a main decoration of flattened
pyramid-shaped diamond points and guilloché work on its flat
surface.
A hole accommodates the entire dial and its mechanism with a specific mounting system that allows a large surface area of crystal to remain visible at the back of the vase. The original fixing knob is in mercury-gilded bronze, as are the dial and its thick, finely chased frame with a water leaf motif. Please note two minor imperfections at the base, front and back on the right side of the foot, which are insignificant and contribute to the authenticity of an object nearly 200 years old. As always, shipping is entirely our responsibility.
The mechanism is entirely original, with a silk thread suspension.
