Impressive Louis XV style cartel clock after
"Antide Janvier, clockmaker to the king in Paris." Napoleon III period,
circa 1860, signed "Vincenti" on the mechanism, dating from 1855.
A high-quality ensemble, featuring a finely chiseled gilt bronze case adorned with ovals and scrolls, decorated with openings covered with geometric motifs on a gilt background. Adorned with leafy branches following the contour of the cartel clock.
Large, domed white enamel dial with finely crafted gilt hands. Protected by a domed and beveled glass.
Original, unmodified movement, striking the hours and half-hours on an antique bell.
The wall mount is thick and very sturdy.
