Circa 1900 Oswald Deitrich Gebruder Heubach Porcelain Plaque

Oswald Deitrich after Gustav Adolf Kuntz (German 1843-1879) “Ein Gruss aus der Welt” (A Greeting from the World). A late 19th / early 20th Gebrüder Heubach porcelain plaque. Signed, and faintly titled verso. Mounted in a good, glazed, gilt and wood frame. The reverse marked with a partial blue Heubach mark, used 1882-1915, and an impressed number (235).
The painting depicts “the nun of Monza” (Sister Virginia Maria) who an Internet search will reveal was involved in a torrid tale including an illicit love affair and murder.

Condition: The plaque is in excellent undamaged condition. The frame is in good condition with a few minor scuffs.
