18th-century German Pierre Fromery Enamel Double Snuff Box

An eighteenth-century silver-mounted “Email de Saxe” double snuff box from the Fromery workshop, Berlin, circa 1730, of rectangular ‘bombe’ form with two compartments with separate lids, the white ground decorated in gold foil and green enamel with flower sprays/sprigs, and dogs on either side.

Width: 7.7 cm (3.0 in)
Depth: 5.8 cm (2.3 in)
Height: 3.0 cm (1.2 in)
Condition: There are stress hairlines to the tops and undersides of both lids. There are marks on either side of the interior, adjacent to the protrusions on the exterior that contribute to holding the lid closed. Otherwise, only light wear of the decoration, mostly on the underside.
