"French Enamel Portrait Of A Lady In An Empire Style Frame, Circa 1900"
Dorval - a circa 1900, French, probably Limoges, fin de siècle enamel portrait miniature on a convex, presumably copper, ground, of a bust of a red-headed maiden with a large purple feather-topped hat with a green ribbon, in a blue dress. In a good gilt-metal empire-style frame, embellished with putti, swags, and ribbon, with a silk backing. Signed.
Our photos do not do justice to the wonderful lustre of the enamels in the portrait.
