“Young Woman in Profile” oil on canvas by Charles Royer. Born in Langres in 1862, died in 1940. Member of the Society of French Artists, Royer was a student of Jean-Léonard Lugardon, a Swiss painter, and of the French painter Jean-Jacques Henner. This portrait was exhibited at the Salon de l'Union Artistique de Toulouse, Salle des Illustres at the Capitole in 1889 under number 366.
