The Girl In The Red Armchair, French Impressionist School, Circa 1900, Monogram
Artist: French Impressionist painter from the south, acquired at the time from a dealer in Vaison-la-Romaine (Vaucluse). Subject: The young girl with green ribbons, seated in a red armchair, painted in tones reminiscent of Renoir (violets, burgundies, emerald greens, etc.). Dating: Based on the stretcher and canvas, I would say around 1900-1915. Support: Oil on original canvas; the brushstrokes are very thick, applied with several brushes of different sizes. Monogram: Lower right: AAB or AAR. French stretcher. Dimensions: Approximately 50 cm x 70 cm excluding the frame; I will provide the exact dimensions soon. Condition: As found. Frame: Original frame, but worn by time, though restorable.
