The signature on this fine impressionist portrait has unfortunately not been deciphered at this stage, but the touch and mastery denote an original artistic personality. Very energetic and self-confident, as can be seen from the vigorous way in which he signed.
The question arises as to whether it could be a self-portrait by the artist. The pose and the gaze suggest this, as does the relative blurriness of the hand, which could have been busy drawing. In any case, One has all the clues.
