Marks: embellished interlaced “Ls”, “O” date mark for 1767, incised “4” ( or possibly "/+") (see images).
Measurements:
Height: 13cm (5.1in)
Diameter (excluding handles): 14.7cm (5.8in)
Notes: The blue is darker than in our images. The white is creamier than in our images. There are several aspects of this vase that suggest genuine soft paste Sèvres: The porcelain is creamier in colour than would be expected for hard paste (our images fail to show this). Although quite heavily potted, the body of the vase is nevertheless quite translucent. Embellished interlaced “Ls” similar to the mark on this vase were used in the 1760s. Incised marks are not known to have been used on Sèvres copies. However, we are not certain and so can only offer it as “Sèvres style”.
Condition: Rim slightly uneven. Light "peppering" internally. Some glazed-over pinprick marks externally. The blue glaze is not mirror-smooth - appears slightly textured under magnification. Slightly worn dentil gilding at the rim. No signs of restoration under UV light.
Shipping: Free to most destinations. If your destination does not show free shipping, please ask.
