Rosewood and Burl Marquetry Box, Napoleon III Period – 19th Century
This refined 19th-century box is a striking example of Napoleon III decorative arts, featuring intricate marquetry that combines rosewood and burl with swirling motifs typical of the era’s opulent craftsmanship. The lid is exceptionally well-preserved, revealing a sophisticated design with richly contrasted wood grain patterns. Includes its original key, a charming detail for collectors. The bracelets and other items visible in the photos are not included in the sale. They were simply used to enhance the presentation and highlight the charm of the box.
Condition : The top is in very good condition, showcasing the finesse of the marquetry. There are some losses to the marquetry on the other faces, and the interior hinge intended to keep the lid open is missing.
