Dresden Porcelain Dancer - Early XIXᵉ Century - Signed
Sublime figure of a dancer in Dresden porcelain, ( a work renowned for its extremely fine lace) made in the early XIXᵉ century, finely modeled and enhanced with delicate polychromy. The young ballerina, captured in suspended movement, wears a remarkably fine porcelain lace skirt adorned with small, hand-applied pastel flowers. The mauve bodice, airy posture and delicately painted face testify to the skill of the Saxon workshops.
The piece is signed at the base, confirming its attribution.
Despite some minor misses in the lace, visible on photo but almost undetectable to the naked eye, the ensemble retains all its freshness, presence and period charm. These slight alterations in no way affect the aesthetic reading of the work.
Reposing on a white base with gold fillets, the sculpture unfurls a harmonious, luminous silhouette, typical of refined Dresden production.
