Capodimonte Porcelain Pitcher – Polychrome Floral Design In Relief, Late 19th Century

Capodimonte porcelain pitcher – Polychrome floral relief decoration, late 19th century

Capodimonte porcelain (late 19th century)

Capodimonte porcelain pitcher, produced in Naples in the late 19th century, featuring a polychrome molded decoration, partially in relief.

The curved body is adorned with a Baroque floral motif: veined leaves, scrolls, and stylized flowers, enhanced with gilding applied by brush.

The upper border, highly detailed, features a geometric design alternating between gold fillets and triangular motifs.

The handle, molded and clearly defined, displays clean modeling without excessive ornamentation.

The color palette—deep pink, enameled green, ivory white, and gold—is characteristic of pieces intended for bourgeois ornamentation of the period, which favored dense and theatrical decoration.

In perfect overall condition: fresh colors, intact decoration, no cracks or visible restoration.

The piece displays a beautiful balance of proportions: 16 cm high, 12 cm wide including the handle, upper diameter 6 cm, base 10 cm.
