Gilt brass ecclesiastical crown, France, 19th century. Adjustable liturgical ornament set with colored glass stones. Dimensions: diameter 15 cm (max), 13 cm (min), height 8 cm. Evoking the solemnity of sacred rites and the splendor of 19th-century religious pageantry, this gilt brass ecclesiastical crown embodies a spiritual majesty imbued with refinement. With its harmonious curves, it unfolds an adjustable circular structure, designed to adapt to ceremonial uses, while maintaining a strong sculptural presence. The main band, finely chiseled with scrolls and stylized plant motifs, holds a collection of artfully arranged glass stones: a central emerald green cabochon dominates the composition, flanked by red, white, and green gems, evoking liturgical colors and the symbols of the Trinity. A frieze of translucent stones underlines the base, capturing the light with an almost mystical delicacy. A testament to devotional craftsmanship, this rare piece combines the nobility of its materials with decorative virtuosity. It could have adorned the head of a choirboy during grand processions or enhanced the relics on an altar. Today, it stands as a precious fragment of sacred history, at the crossroads of folk art and ecclesiastical heritage. In very good condition, please note some glass missing but this does not detracts at all.
