Virgin and Child – Polychrome Terracotta – 18th Century. Charming polychrome terracotta religious statuette depicting the Virgin Mary holding the Infant Jesus. A French work from the 18th century, likely of provincial origin, it reflects a popular piety imbued with delicacy. The Virgin is dressed in a blue and yellow mantle adorned with floral motifs, holding the Child in a frontal pose. The original polychromy, still vibrant, lends the piece a warm and authentic presence. The inscription "Ste MARIE" (Holy Mary) appears on the base, typical of objects of domestic devotion. Dimensions: Height 23 cm; Width 8 cm; Depth 6 cm. Weight: 450 g. Condition: Good overall condition. Minor wear consistent with age and a small chip on the Infant Jesus' elbow, without significant damage. A rare and touching object, ideal for a collector of sacred art or a lover of antique terracotta.
