An earthenware Albarello with blue monochrome decoration, Italy, 18th century. This cylindrical pharmacy jar depicts a remarkable scene: an ecstatic monk witnesses the apparition of Christ, in a lively and richly detailed landscape. The whole is painted in blue and white, with great finesse of execution. Very good overall condition, without significant restorations or chips; slight wear consistent with the age of the piece. Signed at the back. Dimensions 15.5cm high (6.10 inches), 10cm wide (3.94 inches).
