Enamel Snuffbox Or Pill Box Depicting A Portrait Of Samson Paris, 19th Century
Artist: Samson Et Cie
A late 19th century Samson enamel snuff or pill box, of circular form, the lid decorated with a painted portrait on a white ground of a lady in a large hat. The body of the box is of white enamel, the sides decorated with floral sprays, the mounts brass. Identified as made by Samson et Cie by the small lug protruding from the hinge to stop the lid opening too far (see reference below).

Diameter: 3.9cm (1.5in)
Height: 2.5cm (1in)
Condition:
General: Good.
Exterior: faint crazing to left of lid. Light scuffs to base. Mount tarnished. Lid snaps closed well.
Interior: Faint (hard to see with naked eye) hairline to the underside of the lid. Small enamel misses to the bottom of the side of the interior
