Horn With Tobacco Tin/tabatière With Sterling Silver And Citrine - Scotland - 19th Century
Elegant 19th-century Scottish snuffbox made from finely polished horn, featuring superb natural shades from golden honey to deep brown. Its curved shape, reminiscent of a powder horn, is typical of traditional Scottish craftsmanship.
The end is richly adorned with a chased silver mount, decorated with raised plant motifs, probably inspired by the thistle, Scotland's emblem. In the center, a luminous yellow faceted citrine stone adds a precious touch and captures the light magnificently.
The stopper, also in silver, is linked by a fine chain, ensuring both functionality and elegance. The inside of the snuffbox is gilded, testifying to the meticulous workmanship and attention to detail characteristic of quality objects of this period.
