A cake and tart fork in sterling silver 925, model #84, Blossom / Magnolia collection, designed by Georg Jensen in 1919 and entirely handwrought by the Georg Jensen Silberschmiede in Copenhagen. Length 14.3 cm. Georg Jensen hallmark STERLING DENMARK.

The Blossom flatware pattern #84 is the most exclusive and labour-intensive in the entire Jensen production — every piece entirely handwrought. The stem winds upwards to emerge as a flower bud on the verge of opening, each blossom hand-cut, hand-chased and hand-assembled by the Silberschmiede's silversmiths. Blossom is the Jensen pattern requiring the greatest number of manufacturing hours per piece in the entire production — making it the most precious and sought-after Jensen table silver.

Upon his death in 1935, the New York Herald Tribune saluted Georg Jensen as "the greatest silversmith of the last 300 years." His works are held in the collections of the Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen and MoMA in New York.
